1. The services
PermitPlate is a founder-operated research service based in Pennsylvania. It currently offers two separate products: the PermitPlate NYC membership and the PA Permit Pack.
PermitPlate NYC membership
The NYC membership reviews selected public restaurant, building, and licensing records and sends members a short research brief of projects that may be worth investigating. The membership covers one vendor category and one NYC territory chosen at checkout. Each weekly brief contains up to 10 matching signals. If nothing credible matches, the weekly brief will say so.
PA Permit Pack
The PA Permit Pack is a one-time public-source research product for one Pennsylvania property and project. It is intended to identify the likely permitting authority, relevant public applications or forms, public contact or portal information, a practical filing sequence, source links, and questions that still require direct confirmation.
The PA Permit Pack is not a government service, permit-expediting engagement, architectural or engineering service, legal service, or representation before a municipality. It does not prepare sealed plans, submit applications, or guarantee that a permit is required, sufficient, or approved.
2. Pricing and billing
The PermitPlate NYC membership costs $79 USD per month and renews automatically until canceled. The PA Permit Pack costs $29 USD as a one-time purchase and does not automatically renew.
Stripe provides checkout, receipts, payment processing, and applicable tax handling shown at checkout. PermitPlate does not receive or store full card numbers. The refund policy is part of these terms.
NYC members may cancel future renewals through the Stripe customer portal or by contacting support. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.
3. Delivery
For the NYC membership, the first brief is prepared within five business days after successful payment. Later briefs are prepared weekly and sent to the checkout email. Delivery depends on accurate checkout information and a working email address.
For the PA Permit Pack, research is based on the municipality/county, project address, and project scope supplied at checkout and is sent to the checkout email. If the supplied information is materially incomplete or inconsistent, PermitPlate may request clarification before completing the pack.
4. Public-record and permit-information limits
Public records and government web pages can be late, incomplete, duplicated, corrected, unavailable, or superseded. Local rules, amendments, interpretations, project facts, and agency practices can change.
NYC research signals do not prove purchase intent, an opening date, a future sale, or that a business will open. PermitPlate does not guarantee exclusive leads, complete coverage, replies, sales, or revenue.
A PA Permit Pack is a researched starting point, not an official permit determination. The applicable authority decides what approvals are required and whether an application is complete or approved. Verify material requirements with the relevant authority before filing or beginning regulated work.
5. Responsible use
You may use PermitPlate deliverables for lawful personal or internal business purposes. You are responsible for your own decisions, filings, outreach, professional-services needs, compliance obligations, and verification of official requirements.
Do not use PermitPlate to imply government affiliation, harass anyone, infer sensitive personal traits, send unlawful bulk messages, identify private people, resell the service, or publish paid deliverables as your own competing database or research product.
6. Ownership and feedback
Government and public-source records remain subject to their source terms. PermitPlate owns its selection, explanations, formatting, software, and brand. You may use and share individual official source links, but not copy or redistribute paid PermitPlate deliverables as a competing product.
If you send feedback, PermitPlate may use it to improve the service without changing the underlying public record.
7. Availability and termination
PermitPlate may pause a source, omit unsafe or ambiguous material, decline an out-of-scope request, or change a service when needed for quality, security, or law. Material subscription changes will be communicated before the next renewal when practical.
PermitPlate may suspend or end access for nonpayment, abuse, unlawful use, security risk, or a serious breach of these terms.
8. Disclaimer and liability
The services are provided on an “as available” basis for research and administrative guidance. To the fullest extent allowed by law, PermitPlate disclaims implied warranties and is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or lost-profit damages.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, PermitPlate's total liability for a claim is limited to the amount you paid for the product or service giving rise to that claim during the three months before the event. These limits do not exclude rights that cannot legally be excluded.
9. Governing terms and contact
Pennsylvania law governs these terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If one part is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. These terms, the privacy notice, and the refund policy form the agreement for the applicable paid service.
